I have alot of trouble burning in Shrink or Decrypter, I was wondering what I would need to post so you guys could help me out? Is there a way to access a past log without wasting another blank DVD on a failed burn? Maybe I need some new update? I get alot of errors early on at about 2 percent, and I have tried using multiple brands of discs. Please let me know exactly what information you need from me to help. Thanks. On a side note I also could not even rip Crank or The Descent and was wondering if this a new copywright protection issue or are my programs just not working right? Anyone else have trouble with those titles? Thanks in advance!

Hi Shad0revR
If you are autoburning w/ Nero (you pick you burner in Shrink under select backup target) you can post the last log from Nero.
Look here for them (text files):
Nero 6 - program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory
Nero 7 - program files>nero>nero 7>core>nerohistory)

Just be sure to edit out the serial # - usually begin w/ 1A, 1C or 5C.

No Nero then post the make, model and firmware version of your burner.
You may need a firmware update and can use Decrypter to check for on.
In decrypter go to Tools>Drive>Check for Firmware Update. The version will popup and then take you to the firmware page.

Shrink or Decrypter can't handle the newer copy protections that those 2 have.
So use RipIt4Me which uses Decrypter and Shrink. It gives them the help they need on the newer stuff.

Or rip w/ DVDFab Decrypter then open those files in Shrink.

These programs are free.

Hope this is the right info, sorry there is so much, I really didn't know how much of it you needed. I think I removed the serial, if not please notify me and I will get rid of it asap.

Hey Shad0revR
Got quite a few logs here and some w/ the serial # - so edit out all but 1 log.
Just leave the 1st one - edit out everything after the 1st one of these:
====== *** Nero Burning ROM, History File *** ======
That will take care of removing the serial # too.

Here's a few suggestions on the burn failures:
Physical memory : 447MB
Free physical memory: 49MB
Memory in use : 88

In a few of the logs alot of memory is in use. So free some up. No multitasking and close any unneeded programs.

Disc Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG, Media Type ID: M01,
Not the best at all and can be why your burns are hit or miss.
Better to use would be Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

Burn process failed at 16x
Take the burn speed down to 8x or lower.

File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS'
Roxio and Nero don't always play well so you can uninstall Roxio and run the zap tool.

Give that a go and let us know.
