I am using a DCRSR40 from Sony to record kiwi behaviour in infrared (to not frighten the birds with bright lights) for a research project. I had some great footage on the hard disc of this camera which I reviewed once & was excellent. I went back to review a second time on the camera only to find that about half the file (including all the useful stuff naturally) had disappeared. The image slips sideways on the screen before disappearing at the end of the piece of footage that remains. I estimate I lost about and hour of footage from an hour and a half recording session. Has anyone else had this problem with a HDD camera? Is there anyway to retrieve the lost data and is the problem likely to be ongoing? Any feedback appreciated...
