I am trying to find out if there are any open source rippers along the lines of DVD Shrink, Decrypter, etc. I have always been interested in writing a tool such as that in C, C++, etc, and would love to find a good place to start. Any ideas? I would love to be pointed to a few good resources which break down the DVD structure, things that need to be done to decrypt/shrink, handle things like arccos, or other protection schemes, and even see code which handles this.

My apologies if this is better suited in another thread, but it does deal with 1-click transcoding tools.
