Hi Guys,
Was up til 3.00am last night reading threads on HD dvdplayers.
I bacame so-0-0-0 confused that my head hurt and I went to sleep.
Today is a new day,so here goes.A year ago I bought the Sony
50"KFE-50A10 (A.K.A KDFE in the USA)and an upconverting Toshiba
dvd player( SD-4980.OK it's junk but I get an awsome picture
on my tv).I have an HDMI connection and the Toshiba is set
to 720p.The Tv is 1366x768 and therefore the image is 720p.
My dvd receiver is a very old Sony ( STR-DE825)It does not
have DTS capability.I use ac-3 optical.It does have Dolby Digital
5.1 sound capabilities.
Question # (1) :Will having an old receiver limit my choices for
going with Ps3 or xbox360 or HDdvd or bd players?
Quetion # (2)I am mainly interested in getting the best picture
for my standard dvd's as I have a fairly decent sized
collection.I am not looking to replace my collection
with HD dvd"s.
Question # (3) Since money is a big concern,would the PS3 be the
best bet for my situation?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
