what is better apple-x chip or a xceutor 2.2 lite??? i know that the apple is cheaper!!!

By far the x2 is better than the AppleX,but they both do the same job.The X2 has a disable switch and two 512k BIOS banks.So you can bbot EvoX on one bank and linux or debug on the other bank.I have both chips but the Xecuter is the way to go if you can afford it.Also the X2 pro is better than the lite.

shank - just wanted to pop in and say, "good job". alot of people tend to just slam one chip and praise another, and that sucks for the guy who asks the question. you explained that 1 is better but they both will do the job, then you gave explination as to why you think one is better than the other. good job man, i wish more people posted like that. personally, i like my matrix chip, but i haven't used any other. I know it only runs a 256k bios unless you get the chameleon add-on. but thats about it. on the xecuter chip, can you split those banks and have 4 different bios? just curious.

thanx Darth,and about the 4 BIOS banks,the xecuter2 pro can be setup to 4 256k BIOS banks.And the Pro 2.1 and above also have external swithes to do it with,and I think the Pro 2.0 might have an add-on.I want to try a matrix too.I just bought the cheapest chip I could find when I got into this.Thats why I didnt get the matrix.But now that this is my full on hobby,I'm getting a Matrix w/ Chameleon add-on next month probably.
