I use original Pioneer media, no problems so far, burns perfectly at 4x, not one coaster yet and I have burned around 557 dvd-r's. They also play on all systems I have tested, PS2, Xbox, DVD players.
Avoid PioData which is a cheap imitation of Pioneer, made by Lead Data. Crappiest dvd-r ever made :)

You use Pioneer own brand?? You have burnt over 550 discs?? By my simple calculations, you have spent £2200 on DVD R's, when Riteks at 90p each couldve only cost u £495. U must be loaded!

Buy Ritek G04's, they best, bar the pioneer own brand!

Geeza, G04 dyes are great for PS2 as well. I use all of these stores:

http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk
http://www.dvd-and-media.com
http://www.bigpockets.co.uk

For media the first two are my favourites. I have started using Traxdata a lot though, just wish dvd-and-media and bigpockets would do the 4x Traxdata's.

Thnx Oriphus, I guessed by looking at the links in your sig that you used dvd-and-media.com, which i have not long ordered some GO4s off - but sigh, i missed Initial city link this afternoon :-( i'll catch the buggers tomorrow though.
Good site (your link), your own site i presume?, i will surely look at the other sites you use.
Thx again for your help.

Does anyone know where to buy (on-line or otherwise) Ritek DVD blanks here in Spain? If online, it would be better if they were not that far away to lessen shipping charges.

BTW, i got PLATINUM DVD+Rs at 4x for only 1.36? a piece. I think thats cheap.... anyone know of any bad reviews (or good) regarding this brand?

The 50 traxdata ritek g03's I got from blankdiscshop.co.uk arent performing too well so far..(3 coasters out of 10 burned - used a cheapo brand on same hard disc rip and burned fine) Bad batch? Dont like the idea of glider cases..

www.mp3.com/adsr - I produce various styles of electronic music.

Contact blankdiscshop if you are sure you are burning correctly and not running any programs that might iterfere with it while burning. Traxdata are one of the most reliable discs around.

Thnx Oriphus for the info on the G04 discs!!
All 25 burned spot on with no failures on my A06.

In fact - i'm gonna order another 100!!!

Top discs (Clonedisc Ritek G04) www.dvd-and-media.com.

Would highly recommend to anyone with a 4 speed burner. (4.3gig takes an average 13minutes on RecordNow Max)

Ok, I am sold on the Ritek G04 media. But can someone please help. I ordered a hundred pack of Ritek G04 with logo from allmediaoutlet.com. What I got were orange labled disks that had deformed/melted plastic on the outside edges. They burn beautifully except that you get horrible skipping and pixelization at the end of the movie on the outside edge of the disk. Are these fake Ritek disks or are all Ritek's this way or is $@%#$%@# allmediaoutlet.com shipping grade B disks or what?

Oriphus, my supply has the Riteks and the Ritek/Ridata 4X brand ,I was wondering if anyone has had better results with the Ridata's frosty top side or the shiny chrome-like top of the Riteks, and another question : Are the Ridata's frosty top side printable (not that I have a Thermal printer,I'm just curious)cause I want to know if it's safe to write on the the top disc surface and not just in the very center circle, thanks !

The forsty top ones are not Thermal priner capable, they tend to be better for Deskjet and writing only. However, i have not used that disc so i cannot say for sure.

Zerxez - best bet is to ask the company. Use DVD info to ascertain what the discs are!
