I bought a spindle of PioData dvd-r's from Meritline, which were advertised as Pioneer OEM and 4x. Well, they are falsely advertised cause they are Lead Data (by the manufacturer code), burn at 4x only once in 25 tries, work at 2x 60% of the time. Crappiest discs I have ever bought. I have 2 Pioneer 105 drives with the latest firmware and I have burned many different brands at 4x with good results, I even have original Pioneer dvd-r's which burn and play perfectly, but these PioData's have nothing to do with Pioneer. Avoid them as hell.

I was looking through meritline and it says:

NEW! PioData 4X DVD-R Branded 4.7GB Blank Media (Made by Pioneer OEM Manufacturer: Lead Data) General Use DVDR Disc in Cake Box 25, 50, 100, 200, 500 Pack

I dunno maybe they added that after you ordered???

I burned 25 of the Piodata's in my Pioneer 106d at 4x. All worked perfectly in all my standalone players. And all of my friends standalones.
I'm halfway through a 25 stack of the Ritek 4x discs. No problems so far except that this stack is not cut very well. The discs have rough edges.
Looks like the Piodata's have rough edges also. Not a rough as the Ritek's. I have Pioneer DVD-R's, and Imation DVD+RW's that have really smooth edges.

hmmm...

I bought a 25 pack spindle from ESBuy.

Worked like a charm with my 106, not a coaster among 'em.
