tomorrow im getting my chip and im going to put it in. i have a question...this is going to be installed on a new hdd and i really have no need at all for the M$ dash. where do i install my dashboard that i want to use so it will boot to it? most if the manuals and tutorials i read go through the steps of the install but they always start by installing the M$ dash, then the others. its not necessary that you install the M$ dash is it? i want to install the dash i want to use so it will boot it, and then the others as applications. any simple instructions anyone can give?

are you trying to mod a new blank hdd? If so then read this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/407140 it will show you how to add a new bigger hdd to your xbox
