Now that people have Linux running on PS3 i'd want to hear if anyone could send save files through the nativeOS & load them into the PS3 from HDD.

If you have a 60 gig PS3 just put the save on a memory stick (Pro Duo, SD etc.) then insert it into the PS3 and copy it over.
If you have a 20 gig PS3 then use a thumb drive or a memory stick (Pro Duo, SD etc.) WITH a usb adapter.

can you explain the process of copying PS2 savegames from a memory stick duo onto the PS3? when i put the memory stick in with the savegame on it into the PS3 and i go to Game -> Memory Card Utility (PS/PS2) and highlight "Memory Stick" and hit triangle, it does not give an option to copy the information from the memory stick onto the PS3 like it does under Video or Music or Photo. The only option it gives you when you hit triangle is "Information". could you please elaborate on this?

.MAX is Action Replay Max/AR Max Evo, .CBS is Codebreaker & the one you don't have is .SPS SharkPort 2 Save. There's a converter that changes between the diff formats (i'm clueless how to use it myself)
need some saves to convert with? Link

@Toyota24: you'll need to convert your files if they're not already in .psu format. You can get the program you need at ps2savetools & be sure to read the homepage to understand what you'll be doing.
Its sad to say that PS3 save files are digitally encoded & currently unhackable. Until someone finds a way to remove the digital "wrapper" that $ony puts around the save file, even hex editing it would make it useless. If you'd like to contribute to the PS3 save file project, hit up the homepage & click the 10th link (Contact US) on the menu. Anything you can do to help the project is appreciated.

i try to convert my PS2 saves to xps to psu and it works! But, i put the psu saves on my external hard drive, and my usb storage drive, and the PS3 doesn't see it on either one of them. He recognized boths drive, but doesn't see any saves on it :(

Toyota, I'm afraid you might not be able to get the saves on your PS3 for a bit, as the file type must be in a .psv format for one, and must be located in a certain folder in a certain folder for it to even be found by the PS3. I've tried all I could to try and get mine recognized but to no avail. Eventually they may have the correct converter out there.
