Firstly, I'd just like to say hello you all. Found the site soon after buying a Sagem DBox and it's been really helpful.
Secondly, just wanted to thank everyone for the various questions and answers posted. It's opened my eyes a little to what I can expect from my new toy.
Lastly, I just wondered what lies in store for me and DBox? I've had a few minor problems like losing channels and stuff after a few days but generally a rescan brings most of them back (apart from E4? That's been lost completely. It used to appear in the EPG but not now...)
Before I got the box I, rather naively, assumed it was a "plug, play and don't worry about it" kind of thing but now I'm thinking I'm going to have get a crossover cable, reflash images, use FTP protocols and stuff. Although, I've got a rough idea of what these things mean, I'm not 100% sure.
I assume the "image" is the program that allows us to watch Cable TV on a box other than that supplied by the Cable provider? How often do these images need updating? I think the one supplied is called "tardis" - anybody know much about that? I see stuff like Sportster, Commando etc around the place - are these more reliable?
Also, with stuff like the Champions League, are we able to choose the game we watch? From what I've read, the DBox doesn't support the interactive features so how do we go about choosing the right game?
I'm sure there are more questions I haven't thought of, so if there's any other hints/tips/stuff I should prepare myself for then please let me know...
