I have an Onkyo TX-SR604, a Samsung DVD-R135 DVD recorder and a Samsung HL-S5687W HDTV. All new. Hooked up as follows: Wall to cable box(coax). Out from cable box to Receiver HDMI#1 "in" via HDMI cable.

Cable box to DVD recorder via coax (cable box "out" to DVD recorder "in")DVD recorder HDMI "out" to receiver HDMI #2 "in"

Receiver HDMI "out" to HDTV HDMI "in #1.

All works well until I try to record from the cable box to the dvd recorder. I get video but no audio. Could it be because the coax is used into the dvd recorder? If the box carries the signal thru HDMI cable it doesn't allow audio thru coax cable?

I'm new and I am stumped.

Can anyone tell me where I missed up?
