hi i got my son a sony psp for xmas and i was wondering how to dowmload then install the games onto the console? is it possible?
i am not a spy or a hacker as previosly suggested in another thread, just a dad who wants to help his lad out with a game or 2. his software version is 2.81 if thats any help.

need to upgrade to 3.03 then downgrade his psp to version 1.5 then if u want upgrade to a Custom Firmware Version. there are plenty of tutorials on how to do such a thing, just search.

asfar as games, get familiar with torrents and or things of that nature, or u can rent and copy. but just search for what u want and you'll find lots of things about it.

I cannot suggest you to download games since its illegal in most countries, but i can tell you where to get a guide to copy your "own" psp games, try puting on google psp emulation and the first link it gives you should be to psp-news.dcemu.co.uk there in the left pannel is a link that say dc emus guide to play ps1 games or something like that, wich helps you play ps1 games, also in the forums you can get to know about a program cold umd riper, wich lets you backup your own umds
