For the past week I have had a movie on rental from the local rental place.
To make it a long story short, I cannot for the life of me rip, compress this movie. It is "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning". I have tried DVD Shrink, DVD fab decrypter (normal, gold and platinum editions [trial versions]) along with some other ones that I had never heard of. NONE of them did anything helpful.
DVD fab decrypter was usually the most successful for me (much experience with it) and I couldn't rip this specific movie. The other ones worked fine. All it will do is rip the 7.xx gb copy on DVD5 mode. Then while trying to "open file" through DVD Shrink it says it can't because of a certain file problem. So I am stuck. On one program, I cannot remember which one, it said there may be a scratch on the disc. I double checked and there is, but it doesn't look too deep.
Could the scratch be my problem?
I can't find any information about this.
Can anyone help me? This has been bothering me all week.
I don't know if this belongs in the newbie area, but I put it here anyways.
I'm pretty sure this is the same error with the same .VOB file that it always has a problem with. Any idea why it keeps happening? I wasted another half hour to find out it never worked :(
I tried using AnyDVD and that successfully ripped it to my HDD. I tried opening the files with DVD Shrink, that works!
So now I guess I got it. Just need to clear enough space on my harddrive...
