Phillips DVDR 3365 problems recording from LD

Hi guys,

I have hooked up my LD player to my DVDR in the hopes that I can record my own singing onto DVD coupled with the video from the LD player.

However the phiilips DVDR shows me a unable to record source due to copy protection error message when i try to do this.

I was wondering if this is a problem due to my LD player which is a panasonic one or is it due to the way the LD has been encoded.

Is there any way around this and would this be a problem for recording from a DVD player to a DVDR as well as im planning to get another DVD player so i can record some of my Karaoke DVD this way as well.

Would really appreciate advice from someone who has tried this before.
