Who usees Adobe Photoshop and what do they use it for. Hopefully we can all chip in and help each other use it better. Im only starting to learn about it. Here is what i have done. I took a Ferrari F360 and lowered it on its rims slightly. I then added Headlight flare to the headlights so it made them look on and bright. If anyone needs to know how i did this ill happily explain. Here's what it turned out like:

i use it quite a bit myself for editing and joining photos. like for inserting things into photos or taking things out and making it so well blended, you cant tell the difference, especially when printed. it's truly an amazing tool.

I never was a big fan of photoshop. Too expensive and same work can be done with Gimp which is free with Linux. These programs are very similar and all the addons with Gimp are free, whereas the addons for photoshop are more expensive. The windows based program I use in place is Corel photopaint and corel Draw. Photopaint is very similar to Adobe illustrator and Draw is similar to photoshop. In Corel suite 11, you get Draw11, photpaint11 and Rave2 which is very similar to Adobe premier. So I am a Canadian Corel supporter.
Oriphus do you have a graphic tablet that you use with photoshop?

Nah, no graphic tablet in my house thats for sure. I cant draw for shit. Well actually, im not a bad artist, did it at school and did very well. :-) Nut that was a lnog time ago.

I like Corel Draw as well, but really, nothing compares to the things you can do in Photoshop 7.0 SE, hence its £600+ retail price. It really is an amazing piece of kit!

I have been tempted to buy the new academic version for $580, you get Photoshop 7, Acrobat 6 and illustrator 10. Some Journals require .eps picture formats which can only be done with illustrator which is a pain. I am not too sure if its worth it, I have been undeced between it and Corel suite11 which includes Rave2, the academic version of suite11 is $230. So there is a difference. With Rave version one, still have lots of function. So Oriphus you would recomend the Adobe package?

Yeah, i really would recommend the Adobe package. Every photographic magazine and paper uses it. All photographers and graphic designers swear by it. However, if people cant afford to buy the Adobe Photoshop suite, they tend to go with the Corel Suite, which is the next best thing.

I agree Photoshop is a sweet application to have, although I was quite dissapointed with Photoshop 6 ....grrrr silly interface.... I am still a fan of photoshop 5.5 although i have mostly migrated to photoshop 7 now.

Pssst Oriphus.... you seem to know your way around photoshop... how about adding some wreckage or simple paintball scars? :-P

I have the older Corel 10 package, was thinking of upgrading. Have used Photoshop 4, came free with a Scanner bought (free means the scanner was really expensive). But never really liked the interface. I bought a Graphics tablet last night. The Jam Studio tabelet not too bad, took some time to get working in WinXP. But at $40 for a 5 by 7 tablet, I expect some problems.
Praetor, I will see what I can do with Photopaint.

No it a Jam studio tablet. The company went under a couple of years ago, so lots of places have them really cheap. The cheapes I have seen them is $20, but that was on and action site and the shiping would have kicked it over what I payed. But they do let you do alot of fine detail movements. Cutting and pasteing images is a lot easier then using a mouse. I am still working on your picture let you see the results when finished.

How about this :

Lowered, Bigger rims, Background (with see through windows) , 2 Decals and License plate (did it quick, I don't like it to much but eh..). I use PS7 for different things, mostly to do stuff like this.

Here's what I did.

Flipped pic, Different rims (even in reflection), only 2 lights instead of 4, Lens Flare on them and in reflection, background (through glass areas), bigger front air dam/bumper, no plate, bigger side air dam, a little Porsche Logo and my Name.
