okay i just recieved magic swap with the flip top cover and i have burned two games. one of those two is nba live 2003 (DVD+RW) with Nero and the other was gta3 (DVD-R) with DVD Decrypter. i have went through the steps by inserting magicswap then when it loads i am swapping it with one of these games and closing the lid. i then press load program and it tells me that my disc is "not a valid ps2 disc". what am i doing wrong. please help..........

Okay well the first problem is that I have never heard of a DVD+RW working in a PS2 before the second would be did you copy from the original what type of media are you burning gta3 on at what speed are you burning it on and what version of magic swap do you have. I ask because I belive that with the older versions of magic swap you might have had to refresh the TOC on some big games.

I have tried burning games on DVD+RW format. IT does not work with PS2. You need to booktype the DVD+RW to DVD-ROM using Nero 7 and burn the game. Also same for the GTA3. Burn the game with booktype DVD-ROM. That should work. I have burned several games that way and I have Swap Magic Decoder. IT works fine. P.S - Make sure you use Swapmagic DVD for DVD rom and Swapmagic CD for CD rom.

well this is the thread iv been looking for anyways any help will be apprecieated i have the same problem as him it says not a valid ps2 disc and it was copyied to the exact same brand of dvd-r and the exact same way as my other games(which work) heres what i did i opened up dvd decrypter and clicked mode>iso>read the i clicked decrypt it came on as an Ioo a Io1 and a mdf file i then fixed that by going into tools and re decrpyted it. it then came out as one iso i burnt that to a verbatim dvd-r at 1x speed it took ages it succesfuly finished and i load up magic swap dvd version stick in newly copied game and it says not a valid ps2 disc yet when i stick in my other games copyied the same way it works can someone tell me whats going wrong cheers

maybe try burning it again. make sure your not using your pc too hard while burning - make sure the disc isn't scratched or left out in the sun long... or heat or cold temps; make sure not to bump into your pc while its burning the disc. etc. just redo it as you would, and cross your fingers... it could have been something stupid that went wrong, like the disc being a dud.
