Does anyone know why, all of a sudden, when I had Nero 5.5, it wouldn't let me burn backup DVD's? It worked perfectly before, but now it just gives me an error about please put in the original source, something like that.

I then upgraded to Nero 6.0, and when I try burning a burned DVD, it seems like it burns OK, but the DVD is not playable on my computer or DVD player.

Anyone have any input please?

Thanks,
Dan

Don't burn the VIDEO_TS directory in DVD-video mode but in DVD-rom UDF/ISO mode.
This mode is more compatible with stand alone players.

Forget the empty AUDIO_TS folder, its not needed. Apart from that you are correct.

Hee ashlvsya

Its better to choose DVD-rom UDF/ISO (the last choice at the left !!)

And no its not neccesary to create a AUDIO_TS dir !

Good luck.

Wizkid is right - the DVD-ROM UDF/ISO is the one to go for for DVD Video. Check the user guide on my signature if you are having problems. :D

If I use xpress to get the files to the hard drive and then burn with Nero, will I have the same end quality as if xpress did the job? I'm having problems getting the write to work - it says it is successful when doing the disc method when it isn't and when not checking that box, it adds 180 hours onto the burn time once it finishes the 1 hour burn. I know that I'm not going to wait 4 weeks for one DVD!

If your talking about will Nero Burning Rom give you a quality disc as good as DVDXcopy Xpress will , then the answer would be...of course (probably better)!: )

4 weeks would be burning at x0.0000001 I'd imagine - lol

OK, I've tried about everything I know and I'm getting so close. I think I either have conflicting software or my DVD drive (Panasonic LF-D311) is causing me problems. I have used DVD Decryptor, Nero, DVDXcopy and while I can get it to my hard drive - I get an error at about 2% into the copy process while writing the lead in. I removed the roxio software, but not the interactual windvd software. I really need help at this point. I'm about ready to get a new DVD player, but I'm afraid I would still have the same problem. If I can get by this, I'm confident my problem would be solved. Please help - I'm being overrun by coasters!

Interactual Player is well intrusive , you will have problems while that is installed

I have removed all of my other DVD and CD software and still get an error writing the disc within a minute of beginning the process. I'm about to give up on this software since I have spent so much time and money trying to figure out how to get it to work.

DVD X Copy is shit , all 321 Studios software is (just my opinion) ... but if you want to carry on using it then I suggest http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com forums might provide another base for questions based on that poo software

In Nero 6 you need to burn as DVD-Video

Open VIDEO_TS folder (should be red) & add VOB BUP & IFO files

There you go , Roberts your Mothers Brother...
