Help with backup ps2 games PLEASE!!!!???

I am very new to the "backing up games" and I need point by point instructions on how to back up the games and what is needed to play them on my ps2. What software do I need and which is the best. I have a dvd-burner in my pc. I hope I could get some instructions on the cd base modchip for my ps2( I really dont what to tear up my system.) So if anyone could help me out, please respond....
