New sony high speed memory stick pro duo not working

I bought a new high speed 4gb memory stick pro duo the other day and I put it in my PSP. It cant play anything! If I put in a UMD the memory stick doesn't let me play it. It can't play PS1 games off it as well. Maybe it's a virus on the memory stick that is now on my PSP. I know I got everything right because I have a different PSP memory stick that will let me play PS1 games and UMD's. Please help me!!!

Try reformatting it. Did you do a fresh reformat when you got it?

if u got it from an auction more then likely it's fake, and this is a known problem with fake memory sticks.

Was it in official packing? Did the packaging have a sony hologram on the top?

Those holograms dont mean anything. The packaging and hologram are also counterfeit so you get fake everything.

Shoulda went with a sandisk. Theyre cheaper, better, faster. Plus they look cooler.

hey i need help i am a noob so i do not know how to do alot on this site but do any of u know how to make your own memory stick duo for psp this guy at work has created his own from a normal camera memory stick said it was cheaper but he will not tell anyone how

i just got 4 new 4gb sticks but they are not high speed pro but work great.. i've never seen a highspeed one and i searched it and couldnt find one :S
