Are they another one of those stupid bulky attachments like that old 4Gb Hard Drive for the PSP?
Those things are pointless, 2-4Gb Mem Sticks are more than enough for music, movies and homebrew/games.

What the hell is the point of that?
So they expect you to lug around that brick along with your PSP? That's pointless you might as well buy a real 200Gb HD and tape it to the back of your PSP.
If your really dying for more space the 8Gb Memory Sticks will be out shortly but I think most people get by with 1 or 2Gb just fine.
I've got a 2 gig myself and I always manage to fit everything I need onto my PSP

also been looking at the cameras mmmm should be 1.3 mega pixal
but still not bad for £30-00.

40G psp bank are sold at success hk (superufo.com) for USD 166.67 (HKD:1,291.69)
8 GB memory cards cost 300$ in stores...ebay isnt a really reliable place for them... most of them are fake...not that theres anything wrong with except that there arent made from official SONY,Sandisk... and mostly read/write slow and if it wears out too much and dont work anymore theres no warenty on them.

I'd laugh at any carrying around a hard drive with his PSP attached. It's called COMPRESSION people....

Bulky ? mmm about the size of an ipod looks slim and think about it 40G I did buy my 2 G from e-bay and I had took a gamble but I did only pay £19-00 inc postage it has 1.98G space on it so from what Ive heard I was lucky as some have only had 1G space on them.
Only thing now is power supply and transfer speed...But I'm wavering more towards the 40G
HAS ANYONE ACTUALY GOT ONE ????

I dont think its the size of a ipod. It says for 2.5" HDD, so thats probably just a enclosures with a interface and battery for the hard drive. Laptop hard drives are as thick as a ipod and with a enclouser and all that stuff...i think it might be bigger. But i was just thinking if u could swap a different laptop hdd in there, u could have a few hundred gigs...maybe theres going to be a product without a hdd in there.
If this is just through USB mode, wont this just transfer files to the memory card from the hdd?

yeah,..well i was thinking..if like u can just have that with you and if u want to like change files..can you? or do you gotta keep that 40 gig plugged in all the time?
if u can just swap things out with it and disconnect it,that would be the shit..

superufo.com had this infoQuote:
* Copy and save files directly from any USB Mass Storage Device without a computer.
* Support USB storage devices with USB Mass Storage Device Class compliance.
* Easy and user friendly control interface with LCM display.
* Copy and Save files with a single button.
* Support Copying/Moving/Deleting files.
sounds like, it just transfer stuff to memory stick to the correct directories. So you'll probably still need at lease a 1GB memory card 2 gig would be better though. But if your away from your computer...thats nice to have.
It transfer files to memory stick so u can probably disconnect it afterwards.

So it's pretty much a portable HD for your PSP
I don't see the point, the PSP is not a 40Gb iPod, if u really need that much space for music or videos than go and buy an IRiver or Ipod or whatever.
The PSP is PRIMARILY for games. And besides 4Gb is more than enough for music, videos and games if you really want more space.
Seems kinda pointless and clumsy.

see some of us (me) need alotta space cause i like a little of everything.Iso's,Music,Pictures,Videos. everything and at the moment.i got about 4..5 games on my psp and i got liek 8 songs on my 2Gig Stick.and i obviously made a choice to have more games then videos n music.40 gigs would be MORE then enough for me.well since i got about 150 gigs of just music. and just acouple of gigs of games, since i just started to collect them.so having a 40 gig drive to carry just for my psp.sounds decent.i mean since im always doing something and keepin my psp close keeps me entertained.so i dont have to sit there and say Dang, wish i had that game to play right now.

True Memory Sticks have a potential size of about 32Gb, besides I already have an iRiver I use for music and pictures, so that frees up alot of space on my PSP.

i bought one of these a few weeks ago, they are pretty good as i cna upload an enormous amount of music and films i have ripped onto it and play them in my car, whilst my psp is being held on by a gooseneck.
it was cheaper to get this than to buy a lcd screen and i can also get a gps receiver for my psp.
