I ordered a a Mod chip for my son's PS2, it's a V14. I ordered it from divineo.cn I should be able to play any DVD back-ups with that chip installed right?

yes you should. You may have been better getting the 745. The quick solder options may sound eqasier but in the end they really arnt.
