Have you tested your burned copy of Guitar hero 2 before. Try swapping in an original first to see if swap magic loads it. If it does than use your backup to preserve your table from coffee spills under your cup and reburn the game. Before doing this check this out.

Okay well that is probably your problem "Cheap DVD's". I personally have burned alot of cheap ones myself with not a single coaster on a burner that won't even read cd's it's so crappy with zero coasters but I have the top of the line Nero burning rom 7 which makes a big difference. I think you will find that if you switch to Verbatim or taiyo yuden that should fix the problem. Also how are you burning the game. I have used Nero startsmart before but if you do make sure to set the booktype to DVD-ROM. Then if it doesn't work it is time to buy an xbox.

Did you make sure you booktype the DVD to DVD-Rom? If you did not booktype it, then you need to booktype it to DVD-Rom. I have Swapmagic coder v3.8 with fliptop cover and they work like charm. I burned my game of cheap DVD-R too. I bought 50 packs of Memorex DVD-R for 12.00 bucks. They are working wonderfully. I think the problem is better get yourself Nero 7 and use that to burn with booktype DVD-Rom. There is stickie about DVD booktyping in this forum. Look for it.

Ok this is what I got. I have LG DVD/CD/RW burner,Nero, original Swapmagic coder v3.8 with fliptop cover. I have TDK DVD-R and also Memorex DVD-R. I bought the 25pack of TDK for 7.00 bucks and 12.00 bucks for 50pack of Memorex DVD-R. I have recently made copy of WWE Smackdown VS RAW 2007 and it is working even better than the original. All you have to do is set the booktype at DVD-ROM and burn it at slowest speed your burner allows. I don't know what type of burner you have but check if it supports booktyping. I had Nero 6.6 before and mine did not have booktype so I upgraded to Nero 7. couple days a go, I got a iso file from friend of mine and I tried to burn the image instead of making a copy. I got the instruction from here. It works like charm!. If you are having so much problem than try this. Get yourself one more program called DVD Decrypter. Use that to make image copy of your PS2 DVD then burn the image with Nero burning rom. Start your Nero burning rom - Choose your recorder - you should see button called option at the bottom - click option - if you do not see booktype, then you should reinstall or something - set your booktype to DVD-Rom - click ok - click burning image - set your speed at slowest - then burn. After burning the DVD, start your PS2 with swapmagic - switch to your burned DVD after swapmagic loaded - push special - then PAL or NTSC depends what system you got. It should load. If it does not load, then you might have problem with swapmagic. Get it traded for newone at wherever you bought them.

im replacing songs on guitar hero II and burning my own custom one.....so i have to make an iso.....and i tried using Nero 7 but it came up with an error everytime and said failed to burn....

ok so i open Nero....i click new then click DVD ROM (ISO) then click ok....i then try to add the iso to it and it says it's over 2GB so i have to use DVD ROM (UDF).....so i did that and it didn't work....i tried DVD ROM (ISO/UDF) and still didn't work....and after only a few tries the SwapMagic 3.8 dvd stops working and i have to wait before i can try more......

This tutorial shows in depth of how to burn copy and how to booktype using Nero. Look and the tutorial and instead of doing copy, you should see an option of burning image. Choose burning image and rest is all same.

I have used some seriously cheap dvd's before they work but in the long run will make you wish you paid a bit more just because of the PS2 laser replacement cost and your backups going tits up in about 6 months. I agree, I have never burned a coaster with Nero burning rom 7 it is the best by far. However a power calibration error. I just bought a new burner because of that I would try just burning something else firstand see if your dvd burner even works.

I always see people blame the disc brand.. I have used the cheapest walmart dvds and cds since modding began with ps2, I have burned hundreds of games, movies and software... Outta all those burns I have use Roxio to Nero, DVD Shrink, to Alcohol.... I found that Alcohol and burning slow to med is best. I hardly ever make a coaster.. Another factor that could cause burn error or coaster are the laser in your burner... I have had to replace 1 burner in 2 years, it started bruning a couple coasters, and I kept getting burn failed errors on Nero, even at low speeds, so I bought another cheap burner and its been working perfect since... ill preach it till I die, Burn speed I have found is the main factor in coaster or no coaster. The name is all you buy when you buy Verbatium or whatever...
