Thanks Pazzini! I think it worked perfectly, but the message at the end passed by so quickly I can't be sure. Is there any way to confirm that it's unblocked now?
Thanks!

I knew that would be the answer ;-). However, I'm still in Brazil, so I really won't know until I'm in the US and need to buy a local SIM card. Is there another way? I'd hate to arrive in the US and find out the phone is still locked!
Thanks ...

You may have frequency problems using the 6101 in the USA.

Really? Can you explain more? I'm glad I mentioned this then! Isn't this a tri-band phone? Isn't that enough?
If in the end this phone isn't going to work out well, what would you suggest for a phone that will work well in both Brazil and the US (and Europe if possible!)
Thanks!

USA frequencies work with GSM 850 / 1900MHz I am not to sure about the frequencies that the Brazilian 6101 works on, so thats why I brought it up.
If you want a mobile that is going to work worldwide then you need to buy a Quad band model like the Nokia 6131. ;)
Your 6101 will work fine in Europe

Thanks for that link/info. So, from what I could tell on that site it look like the 6101 will work in the US on on 1900MHz, correct? And this freq is available with Cingular and T-Mobile. So, what would be the problem ... just if these carriers have areas they don't reach? It seems that the other popular freq is 850 in the US. So, do some phones switch between the two?
Forgive my ignorance, but I've never had to think about this stuff before!

See if it works on TIM or Oi.
It will not work with VIVO.
It is possible it is unlocked.
You need to know before you travel to the US.

rionokia can still try that sim as it is only to check if it says Sim card rejected or phone restricted.
If when rionokia put in the Vivo sim and got no signal then we now that the mobile is unlocked ;)

Your mobile should automatically switch frequencies when needed.
Your 6101 does not support the 850MHz frequency so networks and areas that work on that signal will not work in your mobile as you will receive no signal.

Your welcome m8 and remember that the Vivo sim will pick up no signal!!
We are looking for "phone restricted" or "sim card rejected" which means it is still locked.
If it takes the sim but no signal then your mobile is freeeeee :D

Pazzini ;)
