im thinking of getting a usb dvd burner. i have a pavilionzv5000 without the dvd burner. I want the dvd burner for burning ps2 game backups. does anyone have any recommendations ?

Don't know if this helps but I bought a sony and it seems to work fine, although I have yet to successfully burn a back up. I am guessing it is either the media or the computer. I don't think it makes too much difference with the burner you choose so long as it is rated good normally. I would suggest readign some reviews or searching for a thread on best external burners.
