i was just wondering if u needed to buy swap magic or is there any way u can get around that?

Anyway around what? Burning a copy of Swap Magic to use that same copy you've just burnt to play backed-up games? That would defeat the entire purpose of it, and Swap Magic would be... blank :leaves it up to anyone's imagination: You either need a Swap Magic disc set, which includes both a CD and DVD version to play either a PS2 CD-based game with the SM CD disc or a PS2 DVD game with the SM DVD disc; a modification that involves soldering a modchip, and I highly recommend you getting a professional to this process unless you have had any previous experience doing so before; or using the old Codebreaker PRO or something to create an exploit onto your memory card to load the program ; and then there's HDadvance to play games off your HD.
