1. If you are using WXP, Microsoft has address this issue in one of the Service Updates
2. What are your system specs? Are you sure you can run it?
3. What burner do you have? Is it a 2-sheeper? (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/45121)

Is the Litey the only drive you have?
Download& install Daemon Tools and enable Safedisc emulation. Leave Daemon Tools running in startup\system tray) and insert your backup in your litey and play. What burning program did you use to backup Mafia?

Silly me forgot to ask what is the brand name and model of your burner? if it's a "1 sheep" then you play the backup in your burner with the aid of emulation (ignore media type\hide cd-r) and "enhance or amplify weak sectors" in the write process. Daemon Tools "might" get the job done if you enable Safedisc emulation and play your backup in your cd burner with Daemon Tools running in system tray\startup. I have a "2 sheep burner list" located in the sticky threads after you enter the CD-R forum.

Don't uninstall m8, right click My Computer>properties>hardware tab folder>device manager>click the + beside dvd\cd-rom and post your brand name cd burner and model#.

Hi all, i got a orginal copy of Mafia. Haven't backed it up yet, but the original copy is prone to a few crashs here and there. From what i've been reading on gaming reviews, the game does have quite a few bugs, and the developers arent going to put any patches in the near future.
