Hi all!

I have read in various posts that people have burned 738Mb to a CD-R.

Now, Windows reports 720Mb, and Nero says it is 738Mb. Which are people talking about? Nero or windows?

The most I can get to burn to a CD-R is 720Mb
as reported by Nero

I am using Nero 6 and have a Lite-on 52246S.

Any help?

Thanks all!

Though Ive never overburned anything, I wouldnt recommend that anyone do it, since it can cause some problems with your cd writer. If I were you Id re-encode the VOB files(if youre doing a dvd rip), or cut out parts of the movie which you dont need.
I gave you some pointers on how to do it on your other post :-).

Life is but a dream...so wake me up already!!!

DataCD-wise you can damn near squeeze 740MB onto a 700 disc (although the most I've dont is 731MB, I have heard of 737MB). I use an ASUS 522452A btw. You have a good chance at overburning stuff if you (a) use good media, (b) burn painfully SLOW. Cant stress this enough. The slower the better.

Praetor,

I use Nero 6 with all upgrades and regardless of how slow I set it to burn, when I get over 721Mb it says that there is not enough space on the media in drive G:.......
What can I do???

Thanks Dude

1. Getting past 720MB is a hit-and-miss adventure (at least with data cds)
2. Try different media
3. Disable the buffer-underrun thingy (and since you are burning so slowly you probably wont need it)
4. Use a different burning app like CDRWIN5... it doesnt warn/stop you if you try to burn too much.... Nero is a little too sensitive (dont forget also to enable overburning and set the overburn limit to like 90Minutes or something)
If all that doesnt work, just use larger media hehe.
