I bought a little over a month ago 100 princo 1X non-printable disks. Burned fine, played fine, for about a month. Then, one after the other, major, major problems. I mean, the surface is mint, but they will not read, ni matter what i try, dvd-reader in my pc or in my standalone. Yikes!

Be Warned! I bought these from
canadacomputers.com and were told they were great disks. No! Watch Out!

I should have listened when all you guys suggested ritek. Just got a 50 spindle of those 2 days ago.

After a month they went?? Thats pretty poor, even for Princo standards. They should easily last a good number of years. They may have supplied you with re-labelled or dodgy discs (grade B). Im glad you have changed to the Ritek side ;-)

Hey Oriphus,

Is this a good media code for Ritek?

00 42 00 00 01 40 C1 FD 9E D8 50 00 02 35 0E 0B .B...@....P..5..
FE FF 80 00 03 52 49 54 45 4B 47 00 04 30 33 00 .....RITEKG..03.

I am not sure, I checked a couple of posts, and it seemed you know a bit about it.

Yah, these princos are somehtin else. Just pooped right out. I am going to try to get my money back (good luck). I know that some show up as tdk discs in DVD Decrypter and others show up as princo. Mighty wierd that they would go that fast.

Thats not the normal batch code. The normal batch code should start with H. Anything that is H4 or H6 is usually ok, as long as it is grade A material

Really? They came in a red ridata package and they burn nice and play nice too, maybe they are the new batch. Where would I find disks like you describe?

Not sure what a sharpie is, but you can use labelling pens no problem. Those are H5 discs, the best Princos are H4 and H6, with H5 comnig in third out of the 8 factories. This is a 3 month old bit of info, it oculdve changed bby now i suppose.

no no, i meant that is the code for the riteks. The princos are H0 - blah blah blah. Must be bad or a really old batch, but is that ok for riteks, the above number from my earlier post?

A sharpie is a fine point permanent marker, major popular.

Ah right, sorry. H5 is fine for Riteks, though it still cant guarantee a grade A disc.
