Hi!

I began having the problem after christmas. I shut my PC down at college and went home for break. When I returned I found that my internet was acting very odd. At some random time it would just altogether quit working. My PC wouldn't detect my router anymore and I would have to reset my router to get it to detect again. I would have to do this every hour or so.

Then a few weeks into this problem my PC itself began acting funny. It began to run up my CPU for unknown reasons. I ran AVG in safe mode and though I found the problem; however I was wrong.

My internet stays somewhat connected now but goes through HORRIBLE slow downs and I usually have to reset and reconnect my connection.

I have comcast cable and it is advertised to have a download speed between 6 and 8 megs per second.

Another thing I found odd was that even at start up I have 71 or more processes running in the background. I made a hijack log. Maybe the problem can be solved through it?

I don't know about your other problems but it seems that you have Mcafee firewall/antivirus with Kaspersky antivirus. My advice is that you should uninstall the Kaspersky antivirus. You already have Mcafee, so your computer will run a little bit slower with an extra antivirus.

Also, C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe - Take a look at the comments here about this process. The comments says that it slows down your internet connection, and it makes your CPU go up to like 100%.


I don't know much about viruses and dllhost.exe, but i would find the dllhost.exe in your system32 folder and scan it or something.

Guess it was even more serious than I thought. Turns out my HD had gone bad on me and shortly after posting my last edit my PC crashed and wouldn't let me boot into windows. Thanks for the help though. :)
