just wondering if u could use any old hdd to use for a ps2 because i have an original hdd from my old xbox also what kinda of things would u need to buy to be able to save things on your hdd?

U need a compatible hdd. Check this list - http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/?p=list
An old fat ps2.
A network adaptor.
And the software, or some way to play backups (E.g. swap magic, modchip) and then burn your own version of hdloader.
