Panasonic DMR-E85H; access to files on hard disc

I have or rather had a Panasonic DMR-E85H recorder.

The recorder got smashed (not by me I should add) altough the hard drive seems OK.

The drive is full of programs I would like to see and don't know what to do about getting access to them. I thought my first step would be to try the drive in my PC.

It is a Samsung SV1203N and Windows XP recognises the drive in the sense that it installs drivers for it so it must be working. Nothing appears in the explorer for the drive itself though.

Can anyone assist me; is there anything I can do to access the programs recorded. The files must be there but it is just how to get at them.
