Legitimate PS2 games will start in my PS2 but I can't run PS1 games

I am using Swap Magic Plus 3.6 and the three parts of the SlimTool set. I can get any PS2 game to work in my console, but no PS1 game will work, even if it is a real copy of the game. I don't know what's causing the problem, the only message I get is "Not Valid PS2 Disc". Any ideas?

i believe swap magic 3.6 does not load ps1 games
