article published on 15 February, 2007
Even though Google Inc.'s YouTube service was recently shown to have extreme videos linked with Mexican drug cartels on offer, the site's users have made a move to protect youths from the horrors of health awareness and human anatomy. Despite regular breast examinations and testicular examinations being highly recommend practices, instructional videos of either are regarded as adult material, ... [ read the full article ]

...or perhaps the dumbass that wrote this article doesnt realize that (prude) viewers are the ones who tag videos as adults only, not youtube itself.

Well, from what I know YouTube's employees examine each item that receives a complaint and if they think it should be taken off it is.

I think if he used a less attractive model, the video wouldn't be flagged as adult content. The beautiful girl is distracting, but I did learn something, although of no real use to me since I'm male.

i think you are now making a scene, and you should have been more mature than him and made the initiative to PM him instead of a public argument.

did anyone at afterdawn read it before linking to it? does anyone at afterdawn know how to use youtube? (i should fucking hope so!)
when a news source passes on faulty info they need to be publicly called out for it, sorry if you dont feel that way.

Well, you are right that I should have just sent a PM and asked wtf that was about like I usually do but I don't usually get called a dumbass for just writing an article.

Yep I frequently use YouTube (to upload vids and view many, many more) and know all about the "flag as inappropriate" system, when I read Register I assumed that YouTube had something to do with the rating change because thats how the source looks if you read it.
And usually people don't call someone a dumbass for a small mistake that really hurt nobody - everybody makes mistakes when they write... i mean read even world famous publications like National Geographic, every week they have segment for corrections of past articles where they post letters from readers. Usually if I make a factual mistake or spelling/grammar mistake I get PM about it, for which I am very greatful.
One thing that nobody who writes here will disagree with is we get so much unnecessary negative feedback, usually from kiddies from console forums I should add. So forgive me if I snapped a bit but I don't like the trend we experience, if people notice something is incorrect, a simple email to support@afterdawn.com gets it to our PR person (Kata) who forwards to the author, we fix, we mail back and say thanks, and we really do appreciate it. Or obviously, someone familiar with aD can easily send a PM directly to writer.
But ye, I really have no intention / desire to get into an argument on News Comment thread, sorry for my part (for the error in article and for snapping) and I've no problems with anyone here personally.
Back on topic... :-)

yotube does in fact review videos when people feel they have been needlessly flagged as offensive. Problem is, when they remove the flag its not a permanent immunity to flagging forever, the next 40 year old house wife from (pick your bible belt state) that sees it will just flag it again. its useless to try to stop it. youtube will review and remove flags to help people who are getting flagged as a nuisance, but they cant offer flagging immunity to anyone because then it would place youtube in the censor seat (somewhere that youtubes definitely does not want to be).
the video still shows up in search lists with the tits full on out and you dont even see the warning until you actually click on it (the nuts one is the same way). youtube is already making a special exception because they arent supposed to show nudity at all. they keep this policy to stay on americas good side, cause it would all just go to porn if they didnt.

I see the issue youtube may have with this. But i do feel this is a way that can really make men and women more aware of these two cancers that have to be taken seriously. I say well done Doc.
