I have some downloaded lost episodes on an external hard drive (320gb western digital), so i was wondering if it was possible to watch these via my xbox 360 (not flashed yet).

as of now, you can only view photos and listen to music on a external drive, but i am pretty sure this is only because x360 doesn't read divx/xvid. try converting video files to wma, and then try, that is pretty much the only way it will work, if it will at all.

Yeah, you'll need to convert them. Look around the net for a suitable program. It will be so much better when the 360 is running programs like XBMC.

ok thanks will give it a shot tonight, just converting some movie files
EDIT- just tried could play music and pictures, but on the video section you can only play via streaming or the xbox harddrive. Oh well, is it possible to play ISO's off the harddrive yet (will it ever be)?

have you tried using the videora converter? What make and model is your hard drive?

no i just coudnt find the option to play video from the hdd regardless of the type of hdd... except the actual official 20gb hdd anyway

The ability to play WMV was implemented in the latest dashboard update...have you got Xbox live?
