Ok I need a way to brick my PSP so I can return it for a new one.

Should I just do a firmware update and then pull out the battery while the PSP is updating?

And to those ppl who have done this, did the store staff even bother to check if anything was wrong or ask too many questions or did they pretty much just hand over a new PSP once u said it's broken?

Depends where you bought it from, they just opened it up and tried to turn it on, and told me to come back in a few days for them to try to fix it, and then they called me and I got a new psp cause they couldn't fix my bricked one * I got desperate for homebrew and used a downgrader for 2.5

Just use a downgrader not meant for your psp and brick it

2.6 > 2.71 = 1.5 - 3.02> MY TA-082 MOBO 1.5> 3.02 OE-A > OE-B > 3.10 OE-A > 3.82 M33
3 Days, I advanced from 2.6 homebrew tetris and commercial UMDs to 2.71 Devhook Emulation to 1.5>3.02 OE-A, Its the golden age of hacking

you should just drop it and brake it because stores dont replace it if it has been bricked durring an update it even shows you the agreement that they are not liable for any bricks.

pm me with any psp problems i know quite alot even if it includes a ta-082.

Yeah but their not liable for damage caused by the user either....

And where does it say their not liable if it bricks, thats a software defect, it's not your fault???

So should I just brick it and say it randomly froze and now it's screwed and won't turn on... that way your not telling them much

If you still got the one year warranty on it, don't bring it back to the store where you got it from look for a sony store, they will replace it brand new cause there too lazy to attempt fix it.

i have a brick psp with a broken screen and the warranty tag(black)behind the battery was removed. and now i am thinking of buying a new psp at walmart and then swap the good one with the brick one. are they gonna suspect anything, are they going to check the serial number underneath the psp.and they they gonna give me my money back foe the brick one??and which store whould be easier to do the psp swap trick?

Yea I've heard of ppl doing that, really mate it depends where you got it from and what kind of store clerk you deal with.

Some people say they simply handed over their PSP and they gave them a new one instantly, but I wouldn't trust that sort of info.

ok ive done this before (twice lol) and this is what i did

ok i got my psp as a present and i got a two year warranty with best buy not the sony warranty then i just pulled out the battery during a sony upgrade. then i took it to best buy and she scanned the serial number at the bottom of my psp to make sure it matched my warranty then they told me to go grab another one and bring it back to her then i had a new psp! it wasn't that hard. and they didn't ask too many questions i just said that i tried to turn it on and it didn't go on... they bought it, the suckers >:)

Tell them that it keeps freezing during games and movies! Worked for me when I got my first one and upgraded to official, undowngradable firmware. They (Walmart) didn't even check inside the box. Couldve got off with free one gig stick and two games. Hell, maybe couldve just returned the box. HAHA
