Sorry for the language, but ive been trying to hook up my damn xbox to the PC for 1 week and the error "no route to host" comes up every time. I tried using all different Ip's, but nothing has worked. I followed 3 tutorials on setting it up, but i guess none of them are specifying what to do exactly, or im just doing something stupid. Any help would be awsome. A link to a good site or something...maybe even the settings of your xbox and PC. thanks

yeah, it just gives me the error whenever i try, if it doesnt work, ill try the router.

To deb, pong & anyone else thats having trouble linking there xbox to a pc with a cross-over cable. Make your computer's IP address the same as the the default gateway on your xbox. Pong, in your case, change the IP on your computer to 192.168.0.1 Subnet mask is always 255.255.255.0 If you have windows 98 you'll have to put the subnet mask in yourself, delete the default gateway its not necessary. Now go turn off your xbox, turn it back on & You'll be able to ftp into it with your PC, i use flashfxp. deb, your default gateway might be different to pong's, check what it is, then do what i told pong.

To elaborate slightly more incase you still have troubles...

If you have the new evox 3752, you will know that it now configs your xbox to ip address 168.192.0.3 automatically...leave the options alone i.e static and gateway of 255.255.255.0 and instead configure your LAN cards IP address to 168.192.0.4

You do this by pressing: start, settings, control panel, network, TCP/IP *your card name*, properties, IP address, configure IP address....then enter the above numbers into the boxes.

Simple. you shoule then be able to connect to your xbox with crossover cable and any standard FTP prog...i know coz that's how i do it! I use LeapFTP and a crossover with my LAN card configured to the same as above.
