Quick question can any drive in a Xbox 360 be flashed? I thing my sons is a Samsung wont know until I take it apart in the week read on another site that not all drives can be flashed Phillips is one that was mentioned little help much appreciated if it is a Samsung do you use the Xecuter\'s 360 connectivity kit to connect it to my pc and flash it does this kit work with all drives that can be flashed cheers for any info shiting bricks even before ive started his first xbox was a walk in the park...

First if u saw that the cd tray is like samsungs then it has to be a samsung!

compare the pictures to your dvd tray!

if you just bought it then most probably it is samsung TS-H943 MS28!

then all you have to do is get a via6421 sata card and follow the tutorial at:

I just compared and looks like i have the hitachi -lg one. What will i need besides pc, firmware, programs ect. Just a Sata cable?

I reccomend the VIA VT6421A Chipset for a Sata Card(works flawlessly with me!) A good tutorial for the hitachi-lg drive can be found here ---> http://www.360-hq.com/xbox-tutorials-32.html :)

All hitachi drives except the 0078 can be flashed with a SIL3112 chipset PCI SATA card.

The VIA works well with Samsung drives and the H-LG 0078

PS2Menace My motherboard has got sata on board I've changed it in the bios to sata only not raid can I flash my samsung drive the chipset is Sil 3114 the board is an Asus K8N-E Deluxe
I've read that you need to hex edit MTK Flash is this true any help much appreciated

I have got Xtreme Boot maker when I run it my sata chipset is recognised and I?ve checked it against the PDF I downloaded from Xbox-scene I think I got it from there it?s the idiots guild to flashing a Xbox it says my sil 3114 is support just need to edit MTK Flash didn?t know xtreme boot maker did it for you cheers for the link and the info
