I was actually liking our discussion... Providing I haven't had much to say but it was nice to read. Especially Jan's little rant, ROFL!
Quick question, totally outta place but anywho... Which would be a better setup? Two Dual-Cores or Two Quad-Cores... Cause i'm thinking of dropping this spring and going ALL out on a computer. And what better way than to buy a server board with two processors? And like 8 gigs of RAM.

If you want to pay 5 times as much needlessly, be my guest, but if you're going to do it that way, two quad cores, else you may as well have saved thousands by getting a normal board with one quad. :)

@ENGAGE16,
Not to step on Sammorris'es toes, but this is where to go to get advice on building computers from the ground up. Look up the Alpha Guru, Sammorris and follow his advice there, you can't go wrong. You have the same DVD burner I have, if you want to crossflash back to it's original lite-on existance, let me know, gives better results when using the KC4B firmware found here, takes it back to a LiteOn SOHW-1693S.

Oh don't worry... I know how to build a PC with my eyes closed... Just thinking of the raw power I could get with such insane ideas and specs... Could encode a movie in mere seconds with Shrink (providing its from the HD and not a drive). Nevermind the fact that Intel is working on an 8-core processor, Octa-core i guess you could call it... Just imagine the possibilities.

considering most software can't utilize even 4 cores yet (just started with 2 now) consumers should slooow down lol...... no to mention my neighbors 2xcore quad is slower then my p4 something tells me people use ridicules hardware to cover up an os riddled with problems lol
....
are we making fun of eva?? or im just late to the party??

That's absurd. A core 2 quad system will easily be slower than a Pentium Dual core if the latter has a full or slow hard disk, but a P4? That's stretching it...

Now if you were to brew up and streamline something like clusterix... hmmmm..

big orange balloon.net is the same 'cept they make you wear pencil sharpeners on your teeth. they blindfold us and whisper things in our ears like "they're here" & "don't go into the light". Then they make popping sounds like paper bags exploding; as part of the signup process they want you to make an omellete and mail it in the post (didn't mind doing that), my ratio was good that way. You get extra rep points for using lemon and sugar.
please check out this site that was review by us and fox they even state who is wrong
