Folks, I have a psp (ta-082 mobo) fw2.71...

I run henb to enable homebrew, then I run "devhook 0.4x for 2.71", emulate fw1.5 and then run "Devicehook shell concept" (v.0.44) to emulate back up to fw2.71 and run my homebrew...

Is there anyway of emulating a higher firmware with devicehook shell concept? is there a newer version that i'm missing?

Or is my only option to downgrade my PSP to 1.5 and then back up to 3.xx?

bigcuz000, I think my mobo is a ta-082, can you (or anyone else) confirm this is so...

When I open the lid where the UMD disc goes (with the PSP logo facing me the proper way, i.e. that it the right way up), it says "IC1003" in the top right hand corner and in the top left hand corner it says "IC6001"...

I think its a TA-082 but i'm pretty new to this and i'd just like to be sure before i brick it!! lol

Yep you have a TA-82 mobo. no problem though check out this website for a safe downgrader.Good Luck! Here is the info you need!

Files needed for 2.71 PSP

TA-082 2.71 Downgrade Files
http://www.biaklan.com/psp/271TA-82/271DG.rar

Official FW1.50 Update Eboot
http://dl.qj.net/dl.php?fid=163

1. Open the two downloaded files and extract to the psp
-Copy Everything from 271DG.rar to the ROOT of your memory stick. (Do Not Copy into MP_ROOT)
-Copy over the downloaded 1.5 update eboot renamed to UPDATE.PBP into ms0:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE

2. Now exit to your psp and run HEN D by going to the photo menu and entering the HEN D folder.
If your PSP crashes or red screen comes up try again

3. Go to the GAME menu and and run idstoragechange. Your power cable needs to be connected and you need at least 75% battery.

4. When the program exits back to the xmb under the GAME menu.
Run Update X.YX

5. When your PSP has finished downgrading press X to restart your PSP

6. When you turn your PSP on there will be a blue screen
Press O

7. You now have a 1.5 PSP
REMEMBER THERE IS A CHANCE OF BRICKING!

Worked a treat bigcuz000, working now on 1.5....

I'm gonna update now to 3.03OE-C, got the guide and all....

Is it safer now to upgrade to this new firmware (3.03OE-C) than it was to downgrade the psp to 1.5? My nerves are shattered!! lol

Dont worry about it man. my nerves still jitter everytime i help someone do this. but it is easier to upgrade to 3.03OE-C. use hexitnow's 3.03OE-C winstaller. it is really simple.
