No, I believe, from what I've heard, that only the Swap Magic 3.6 CD disc has the abiilty to do so. The Swap Magic v3.8 coder CD disc can't be used to play your DVD PS2 games. I've tried and have failed miserably.
my dvd swap magic is not being read by my new slim line silver ps2
Could be a bad burn, improportional size, and etc... If you can, try contacting the place for a replacement if they offer. And did you try it on any other system?
And another thing. what is the best kind of dvds to use just out of curiousity.
The answer to this question can be found over by the PS2 - Software Discussion section of this forum for a more detail briefing, but to answer your question, it depends really on what your PS2 would rather read. The later versions - the slimline - tend to have a better time reading DVD+R simply because they're picky, and sometimes, to those that tried to use DVD-R on these later models, haven't had any success with DVD-R and stuck to DVD+R cause it works for them; although, there are some exceptions like where the older black slims could read DVD-R better, and there are some other versions of the slimline that could read DVD-R well enough, and even better, then DVD+R but it depends what you're given of course. The older versions - the Fatties and some earlier versions of the slim, mainly the black one - can also read DVD-R and DVD+R exceptionally well, but you should test both formats and see what your console prefers and what works (don't forget, booktyping to DVD-ROM if your burner can support it).
