S-video to TV aspect ratio problems

I just hooked up my laptop to my 4:3 ratio TV using S-Video and everything is working great.

The only problem is that videos that are played back are stretched to fullscreen on the tv but appear normal on the laptop.

Is there anyway to play the videos on the TV at the normal aspect ratio on the TV?
