hi every 1 ive just made loading hdl using dev1 very easy.i got the DMSEXPLORERv10 file download from dms3 website and just changed the files using notepad.
this is how i done it.
u have 3 files install/system/exployer.
opened install with notepad locked like this.

DMS Explorer 1.0
NO_ENTRY
_MKDIR mc0:\BOOT
COPY cdrom0:\EXPLORER.ELF;1 mc0:\BOOT\BOOT.ELF
i changed it to this

DMS Explorer 1.0
NO_ENTRY
_MKDIR mc0:\BOOT
COPY cdrom0:\HDL8B_MC.ELF;1 mc0:\BOOT\BOOT.ELF

now for system

started like this

BOOT2 = cdrom0:\EXPLORER.ELF;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = NTSC

i changed it to this

BOOT2 = cdrom0:\HDL8B_MC.ELF;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = NTSC

now all i done for explorer is delete it and changed it with my HDL8B_MC file that is the elf file from my hd loader.so at the start of all those files is HDL8B_MC.right the next bit.

i made a copy of the normal DMSEXPLORERv10 booted it up installed it.
now just opend up Nero whent Nero express then put all the files i changed into Nero then went to data disc and copied the disc then started up uLEv379 from here http://www.ps2-scene.org/forums/official-ulaunchelf-forums/

when loaded should come up with this

whent to file browser then mc0 i think there is a file called boot/boot/boot elf i think it near the bottom.then that should load the dms3 scream with browser flashing.
now take the disc out and put in the disc in that u changed the files.
click select should say something like installing dms3 browser or something once that is done shutdown the ps2 make sure no disc is in then put in stand bye hold triangle press reset then there u go should load hdl without any disc.u have to have a memory card in i deleted every thing from mine good luck if u wish to try this happy to help.
