Hello,

I just purchased a 20 pack of Fujifilm CD-RW (74min 650MB/Mo). I would want to know if this is a reliable product. Reading through previous postings, I saw that the ones manufactured in Japan are OK, but on the box I have it says Made in Taiwan, and the company is "Fuji Photo Film USA Inc";

On their website at www.fujifilmmediasource.com/specs/cdrwspec.htm, they give the following specs:
OUTER DIAMETER 120.0±0.3mm
INNER DIAMETER 15.0+0.1/-0.0mm
THICKNESS 1.2+0.3/-0.1mm
RECORDING CAPACITY 650MB
RECORDING TIME 74 minutes
TRACK PITCH 1.6±0.1”m
RECORDING MATERIAL: Ag-In-Sb-Te Phase Change
REFLECTANCE (RTop) 15 ~ 20%
TRACK ECCENTRICITY Less Than 70”m
TILT Less Than 0.4°
READ STABILITY 10 (exp)6 Times

I bought them from BJs(Wholesale club) for about $14.
Are they any good, or I should better return them and buy some other brand? I plan to use them for data backup as well as music.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have went through 2 - 50 packs of FujiFilm 48x(700mb /80min) CD-Rs made in Taiwan and haven't had any trouble with them up to this point.

Thanks Mac71 for the fast reply. The ones that I have are CD-RWs 74min 650MB though. Anybody that knows about /used them? I am particularly interested in CD-RW as opposed to CD-Rs because I plan to use them for data backup thus write and overwrite many times.

PS: I did read about the program that displays the ATIP information of a CD-R(W) disc from http://cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/cdridentifier.cfm, and downloaded it, but I did not do the test because I did not open the CD box yet, just in case I decide to return it and look for some other brand instead.

<Same as Mac>

I cant believe that they would tarnish their rather good name by producing poor quality CD-RW's! Me thinks you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Let us know the results from CDR-Identifier :)

Unfocus: Although not all older CD-players will play music from a CDRW......

I think all Fuji media "made in Taiwan" is Ritek brand in disguise. At least it's better than most of the other stuff made in Taiwan. The ones made in Japan don't even name a company in the ATIP, but they're excellent regardless of who makes them (the best I've used so far).
