I have a some games that even after being compressed to CSO are still big to fit into a 1GB MS, is there any way to rip some files that are not needed for the game to run 100% (Like the firmware update files)?

Thanks for the attention.

Cheers

I think I didnt make my self clear... I mean... A game in ISO format is around 1.5GB, after being compressed to CSO the game only loses about 490MB (with compression level 9) thus the CSO still being too big to fit into the 1GB MS. What I want is, to remove unneeded files (like I said, the firmware update files are just enough) from the ISO then compress it to CSO. I tried to copy the files from the image, remove those files then re-build the ISO in ISO/UDF format and ISO only format, but both ways didn't work.

uhh....convert it back to an iso file, so u can extract the files with umdgen and delete the ones u don't need, then rebuild it to an iso with umdgen and then compress again to cso... does that help? i don't know what u mean when u tried to copy the files from the image...etc

Yes thats what I wanted, a program that could handle UMD images. I'll see what I can do with UMDGen.

Thanks for the help.

Edit:
Man, thanks a bunch for your help, the game is running at 100% with few slowdowns and such due to the compression but its okay.

Cheers
