xvid4psp videos with subtitles not working?

for people who use this program, what are your preferred settings? For some reason I can't get videos to work on my psp. they show up, but when you try it says 'cannot be started'. I chose 'MP4 PSP 480', lowered video bitrate to 720, and let it convert. Shows up on the computer fine with subtitles hardsubbed, I renamed properly and put it in 101ANV01. Actually I tried putting it in all the folders hahah and it still didn't work. Does anyone have a guide? Searching came up with one, but the link is broken :(
