PS2 hdloader questions pls help

i have my ps2 here for about 3 yars now and the lens is already busted so i used hdloader to be able to play my ps2 again but my network adapter doesnt work anymore so i am wondering if i can use the usb port and put a hd enclosure in it and inside all my games installed in my harddisk, but when i boot it up, the ps2 didnt detect any harddisk in the console, whats wrong with what im doing, any pointers and suggestions

Cant use hdloader for a usb hdd.
You have to use usbadvance.
But you will have to reinstall games onto the hdd with a specific tool.

And only a few % of games are compatible

ohh i see, so i just have to find a way to fix my network adapter, thats the only way to extend the life of my beloved ps2
