Stealth Patching Tutorials???

can anyone make or point me to a good tutorial (with pictures) that will explain how to stealth patch an image file?

I have searched the net and have not really found anything.
It can use SS Merger v1.7 or Schtrom 3.1 as long as it can patch all three files (SS, DMI, PFI)
Burning i have no problems with as backing them up has been a sinch.
But patching something that needs it has just given me problems.
(yes, i know the newer programs create files that are already stealth from an origianl disc)
