Is there anyway I can get my computer with XP install to load/recognise my CD/DVD without me always going to 'My Computer' to open?

Right click on the drive, click properties, click tab AUTO PLAY chances are that the default is set to take no action,if so change to the one you require, click apply then ok. eject disc then re-enter
it, it should then open. (assuming that is what the problem is)
