Hi,

The problem is the following: Most often, when I try to read CD-R in my DVD-Rom drive (Pioneer DVD A05), I get "controller errors" and, worse, timeouts. Meaning that I need to eject/re-insert the CD-R several times before being able to access it.

Those same CD-R are read perfectly well by my CD-Writer (SCSI Plextor).

Tech details:
- Win XP SP1
- EIDE DVD-Rom drive, Slave on secondary channel
- Happens in UDMA mode as well as PIO mode
- Does not occur with "regular" CDs, only with CD-R
- Using Maxell 80min CD-R
