Screen Saver while burning movies...

I have a quick question...

I am backing up some DVD's on the follwing PC setup:

- AMD Athlon 4200 64 X2 2.2GHz
- 2GB of DDR2 RAM
- Integrated NVIDIA GeForce6100, NVIDIA nForce430 MCP video
- running Vista Home Premium

Is it ok for me to allow a screen saver to engage during the burning process? Or should I set the screen to go into power saving mode after a few minutes.

I have 2 concerns... I don't want to cause any errors on the disc from having too much going on on the PC while burning... AND.... I don't want to turn the monitor on and off too much since from what I have experienced, people who turn their computer and monitor on and off too much end up having problems from all the voltage spikes I guess.

By the way it is an LCD monitor.

Can anyone offer any advice? Am I being too paranoid? lol

Good point to remember, but a screensaver is safe enough. Multitasking as you have guessed, can take away system resources while processing your backups, leading to possible problems. Your system has plenty of grunt, so I wouldn't be to concerned....generally speaking. :)
As far as turning monitors on and off, well...it all sounds like too much effort to me LOL
